Jedi Challenges: BMW R 1250 GS Adventure

Jedi Challenges: BMW R 1250 GS Adventure

During nearly 40 years of evolution, the BMW motorcycle adventure series has gone through stages such as BMW R 80 G/S, BMW R 100 GS, BMW R 1100 GS, BMW R 1150 GS, and BMW R 1200 GS.

From air cooling to air/oil cooling to air/liquid cooling, from 2-valve to 4-valve, the unique suspension system Telelever A-type cantilever front suspension + Paralever parallel-link rear suspension has been refined, which integrates electronic throttle, " Pro" professional riding mode, dynamic brake control system DBC, anti-lock braking system ABS Pro in corners, dynamic electronic suspension adjustment Dynamic ESA...

After a lot of hard work, a new generation of GS flagship model BMW R 1250 GS Adventure was born.

Compared with the previous generation BMW R 1200 GS Adventure, from the name change of the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure, we can see that the "boxer" is more powerful.

Indeed, this air/liquid-cooled, DOHC 8-valve horizontally opposed twin-cylinder engine has a bore and stroke of 102.5 mm x 76 mm from the previous 101 mm x 73 mm. The corresponding displacement has also increased, reaching 1254 cc. That's 84 cc more than the previous generation.

Surprisingly, even though the displacement increase was only a fraction of the buck for the burly "boxer", the power boost was more than expected: rated power increased to 100 kW/7750 rpm; torque changes Even more remarkable, reaching 143 N•m/6250 rpm!

Displacement has been increased by 7%, power rating has been increased by 9%, and torque has been increased by 14%. This effect is largely due to the use of a "secret weapon", the BMW ShiftCam variable camshaft system, which was first introduced on BMW Motorrad.

Inside the engine, the valve lift is varied by two sets of cams with different profiles, and the camshaft is controlled by a unique and simple design. The torque output is significantly improved, the operation is more stable, and the engine performance experience is significantly improved.

The more powerful "boxer" drives the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure forward. In addition to its powerful power, it also has stronger off-road performance and stronger Jedi adventure ability!

From the appearance alone, you will find that the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure is significantly different from the BMW R 1250 GS. The former one interprets the Adventure talent through a tougher and wilder style!

Heavily armed and sturdy protective bars, suggesting that the "Jedi Warrior" often has to challenge harsh environments;

Spoke rims for better shock absorption for off-road duty;

Equipped with dynamic electronic suspension adjustment Dynamic ESA is more capable of heavy-duty off-road, and the ability to digest bumps and impacts is very strong;

The minimum ground clearance is increased accordingly, and the ability to climb over complex terrain and roll over roadblocks is better;

The fuel tank volume is as high as 30L, which realizes super endurance and relieves the rider from worries.

In addition, the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure also has more practical equipment, including a well-protected windshield, adjustable rear brake pedal and shift lever, wide rally pedals... All kinds of carefully crafted and caring designs allow the riders to challenge the Jedi and overcome obstacles indomitably on the premise of ensuring safety and comfort!

On the adventure road, with higher cruising range, better comfort configuration and stronger passing ability, the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure interprets the higher realm of long-distance motorcycle adventure travel.

Despite the stature of a large adventure bike, the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure is easier to handle. With the support of professional hill start control system HSC Pro, dynamic brake control system DBC and other safety systems, it will escort you when you challenge the peak.

There is also a seat height that meets the height of many riders. The seat height is optional: 840 mm and 890 mm. Suspension system (front): BMW Telelever A-type cantilever front suspension, travel 210 mm; Suspension system (rear): BMW Paralever parallel Link rear suspension, travel 220 mm.
