How to choose a motorcycle camera?

How to choose a motorcycle camera?
On the motorcycle road, some people put the scenery in their hearts, and some people freeze the scenery in the lens.

But anyway, it doesn't seem to make any sense not to take a few pictures.

Some people feel that taking pictures with their mobile phones is enough. Some people are carrying big bags and can't wait to bring all their camera equipment home.

Here, I'll talk about my travel camera choices and give you some advice. Welcome everyone to discuss and advise.

What kind of rider needs a camera

Most of my Momo friends have this mentality.
Running type. Mainly running on the road, took a few pictures at the destination, showing that I have been there。

2. It is mainly for viewing, and has high requirements for photo quality. Don't worry, plan the route in advance, pass the right place at the right time, you can see the most beautiful scenery, and freeze it in the camera.
3. Between the above two, the main purpose of taking pictures is to record, everything must be photographed, but this is just a record.

For the first type of motorcycle friends, taking pictures with a mobile phone is enough, but it is also very troublesome to bring an extra piece of equipment. They don't stop on the road to take pictures anyway.

The third magic tour, in fact, a mobile phone is enough. It's convenient and quick. Of course, higher requirements can also be upgraded to two or three thousand card cameras.

What really needs a camera is the second kind of motorcycle friend.

Phones can take pictures, as can cameras. Now there are some so-called camera phones, with more than 10 million pixels at every turn, which look amazing. Do you still need a camera?

We gave up taking pictures with our mobile phones and brought a lot of equipment with only one purpose: picture quality!

Factors Affecting Image Quality Affecting Image Quality

There are many factors.

1. Three elements of cameras involved in imaging: CMOS size, lens quality, and image processing system. Factors Affecting Image Quality Affecting Image Quality

There are many factors.

1. Three elements of cameras involved in imaging: CMOS size, lens quality, and image processing system.

The sensor CMOS (or CCD) is the heart of the camera. The larger the size, the better the image. Just like the engine of a motorcycle, displacement is king; the lens is the eye of the camera, and the quality determines the imaging; the image processing system is the brain, and now Canon's latest is DIGIC 7, Nikon is EXPEED 5, and Sony is BIONZ X.

The following figure is a comparison of CMOS sizes of different specifications. The latest vivo NEX camera phone, the camera is Sony IMX363, the CMOS is 1/2.55 inches. The iPhone 7 has two primary and secondary cameras of 1/3 and 1/3.6 inches, which can be compared for reference.

2. Air quality. This is out of human control. When watching Western films, they are all transparent and bright, and the heavily polluted places are like being covered with a layer of gauze with any equipment.

3. Jitter. A lot of people have high-end cameras that can't even take sharper pictures. Shaking is probably the biggest reason. Shaking will turn your bull head into a dog head in an instant.

Generally, for full-frame cameras, the safety shutter is the inverse of the focal length of the lens. For example, when taking pictures with a 200mm focal length lens, if you hold it by hand, the shutter speed cannot be lower than 1/200 second, otherwise there is a great possibility of blurring.

For APS-C cameras, divide this data by 1.5, which is 1/300 of a second in the example above. Try buying an anti-shake body or lens, and if possible, a light and sturdy tripod will greatly improve the quality of your photos.

How to choose a motorcycle camera?

So what kind of system do we need to travel with motorcycle friends?
In my experience, these points require attention.

1. Lightweight. The carrying capacity of the motorcycle is not strong, it can be a little less. So those big three-yuan lenses, although they are good things, are really not suitable for motorcycle tours.

2. Don't carry too expensive equipment. A friend of mine went to Tibet by bike. Once he lost a piece of luggage, which happened to have equipment, and lost more than 10,000 yuan. Another friend rides a waterfowl with the gear in the shock case and saddlebag, but a 24-70/2.8 is still broken. Rough roads have a big impact on these delicate devices.

3. It is best to have waterproof function, or dustproof and splashproof. The outdoor environment is poor. I once lost a fuselage in a snowy day in Gannan, and I dared not take pictures in rainy and snowy days.

4. The sense of high-level is better, and it can take good photos even in low light. After all, not everyone has a tripod.

5. It is very important that the body or lens is equipped with anti-shake. Otherwise, if you come back and look at the photos, a lot of the photos in poor lighting will be blurry. High sense + anti-shake, basically no tripod.

6. The aperture of the lens should be as large as possible, and the blurring ability should be better. When the light is bad, you can increase the shutter speed to prevent blurring.

7. The fuselage preferably has a reversible display screen. You don't have to lie on the ground when viewing from a low angle. Who knows who uses it.

8. Regarding the choice of full-frame or APS specifications, if you really like photography and can stick to it, you should buy a full-frame, otherwise it will take a long time and cost money. For occasional use, APS specs are sufficient, lightweight, and the system is less expensive.
Common sense questions when buying

To clarify some common sense issues.
High resolution is high quality.

In the past few years, digital manufacturers have been engaged in pixel competition, giving everyone the illusion that the higher the pixel, the better the picture quality. A typical example is the Canon 7D. In the case that the image processor cannot keep up, the pixel of the ancestral CMOS is increased to 18 million, resulting in the worst picture quality in the Canon system.

The CMOS of mobile phones is generally about 1/3 inch, and many of them are advertised as 10 million pixels, which is very powerful. But importing the picture into the computer for viewing is simply terrible, with noise, noise, and the picture quality is loose and thin. If you don't output large-size photos, 10 million pixels is actually enough.
